We recently caught up with IFBB Pro and Classic Physique competitor, Steve Laureus, at his home in New York.
Knowing Steve approaches his offseason diet in a very old school way (mostly healthy nutritious food sources), we thought he would be perfect for our Full Day of Eating segment.
Steve starts off his morning with a juice. The ingredients he uses may differ slightly from time to time, but they all serve a purpose. Today, he is using carrots, green apple, grapefruit, cilantro, ginger, celery, beets and aloe vera.
For breakfast, he eats 1.5 scoop of protein with 100g of oatmeal along with 2 whole eggs and 6 egg whites.
His second meal is his preworkout meal. It consists of 2 cups of rice, 7oz of shredded chicken breast and ¼ of an avocado. He also uses Himalayan salt on top of the rice to help him get a good pump during his workout.
Post workout, he heads to Hummus Mediterranean Grill, one of his sponsors, for a meal. In this meal, he consumes 250g of gyro chicken, 200g of jasmine rice, spinach, eggplant and onion.
While at the grocery store, Steve snags meal number 4. In meal number 4, he eats 8oz of sweet potato, 8oz of steak, spinach with mushrooms and scallions, and a bottle of Bai coconut water.
Meal 5 is another shredded chicken meal, however, this time he pairs it with baked sweet potato fries.
The final meal before bed is 250g of rice, 7oz of chicken breast and ¼ of an avocado. After this meal, Steve heads to bed and gets ready to do it all over again the next day.
Steve’s Macros: 5108 calories, 448g of protein, 481g of carbs, 164g of fat
