Your Background

Competition History

  • 2010 INBF Hercules Novice 8th Place

I use heavy weight and low volume.I am a male fitness model, personal trainer and nutrition consultant. When I was young, I would watch wrestling and dream about having a physique like the ones I saw on TV. In the back of my mind, I knew that one day I would be able to reach that goal. I began lifting weights at the age of 13, with the hope of one day walking around the beach with confidence. I continued to work out, and although I gained mass and looked good with my clothes on, I did not look the part without the clothes on. Everytime I would be asked for nutrition and training tips, I would feel so disappointed because I knew what I had to do, yet I could never take off my shirt at the beach with any confidence.

The turning point of my life came when I decided to take action and ask IFBB pro bodybuilder Colette Nelson for advice. Colette mentored me and told me that I would make a great fitness Model. I decided to take pictures to showcase my hard work, and the rest is history. Colette introduced me to pro bodybuilder Dave Palumbo, who has been there for me ever since; he put me on board with his supplement company Species Evolutionary Nutrition. In June 26th, 2010, I competed in his first natural nodybuilding show.  I have worked with runners, students, children, bodybuilders, chefs, MMA fighters and police officers. I am scheduled to appear in Maximum Fitness and New Living magazines next month.

Training

What is your training philosophy?

Train the same - heavy weights and low volume. While getting ready for a photo shoot or a contest I increase the cardio.

Nutrition

What is your philosophy on nutrition?

High protein, moderate fats and low carbs while dieting. When trying to gain mass I add carbs to some of my meals depending on how I am looking.

Give us a typical day in your diet (off season):

6 meals a day, 3 of which are protein shakes. 3 to 4 meals might include carbs.

Give us a typical day in your diet (contest prep):

6 meals a day, 3 of which are protein shakes. Very little carbs.

What are your favorite meals and foods?

Salmon and mixed veggies.

Favorite cheat food?

Taco Bell.

Any other info you want to add about diet & nutrition?

You have to eat good to look good.

No matter what place you got you already won.

Supplements

List 3 supplements that you’ve used to with good results, why you use each one, and when/how you use it.

  1. Isolyze whey protein. I love it because it contains zero carbs, zero sugar, zero fat and 27 grams of protein per scoop. The best part about it is that the taste is amazing.
  2. Fiberlyze. This is a fiber supplement. A lot of us don’t consume enough fiber and this supplement allows me to get the fiber I need.
  3. Crealyze. Only creatine I have ever taken that has given me results and has not gotten me bloated.

Advice For Others

What’s your best tip for looking your best on competition day?
