In 2000 my health was significantly deteriorating due to an autoimmune disease.  I got sick of being sick and frustrated with doctors who had no real solutions, other than offering medications that all had serious side effects.

I would not accept that these were the cards I was dealt, so I took matters into my own hands.  I always ate healthy, but did not realize what a critical role nutrition can play in achieving optimal health.  After I learned everything I could through reading and research online, I decided I wanted to learn more and inspire positive dietary changes in people’s lifestyles, not only to lose weight or gain muscle, but to help with their health issues as well. There is so much misinformation out there and sometimes the patient is the best advocate!

I am certified in Sports Nutrition and as a Personal Trainer, through I.S.S.A.  I want to instill my love for fitness and nutrition in as many people as I can and have them realize that through both exercise and dietary changes, most health issues can be significantly reduced or minimized. I enjoy researching and thinking outside the box to find a solution.  I hope my articles reflect that!

I am honored to write for Muscle & Strength.  Never say never, where there is a will, there is a way.  I am proof of that!  I not only got my health back but gained thirty pounds of muscle!

To say I was determined is an understatement.  I still have my ups and downs but because of the dietary changes, I have more ups than downs!  Both mentally and physically I am very strong, and I encourage others to take control of their own lives and health issues!

I currently reside in St. Augustine, Florida. I work with clients locally as well as online. If you wish to contact me, please visit my personal website at Nutrition Beast.  I can be contacted at lisakhostetter@gmail.com.

Finally, someone clearly explains why excess sugar causes fatness! Articles written by other people about fat loss seem to be vague and confusing, but LISA got it right. Read her article about abs--it will finally make sense for you!
