Gerardo Gabriel’s Breakfast
The breakfast Gerardo makes is pretty much what he eats for his first meal every day. He doesn’t like to overcomplicate the process. Instead, he focuses on feeding his body, fueling his body, and working out.
Gerardo recently made the switch from egg whites to egg makers. They have similar macro nutrient profiles, and Gerardo enjoys the consistency of the egg makers a little bit more. After spaying a pan with non-stick spray and letting the pan warm up a bit, Gerardo adds about a cup of egg makers and begins to cook them.
For healthy fats, Gerardo has measured out about ¼ cup of pistachios. Typically, Gerardo likes to get all three macronutrients in during his first meal of the day for extra energy for the rest of the day.
Gerardo wants to make sure to get 30-50g of protein during his breakfast. So, if he eats about 30g of protein from the egg makers and pistachios, he’ll add in a scoop of whey protein to bump up his protein content.
For his carb source, Gerardo goes with either an instant packet of oats or an instant packet of cream of wheat. 1 packet is about 28g of carbs for Gerardo’s breakfast. Gerardo doesn’t like to go low carb with his diet unless he is prepping for a show.
To add additional carbs and fats to his breakfast, Gerardo adds in 2 rice cakes topped with almond butter to round out his meal. This part of the meal also helps Gerardo curb his cravings because it is somewhat sweet and a better alternative to eating store-bought cookies.
This particular breakfast is quick and easy to make – it didn’t even take Gerardo 10 mins to put together.
Gerardo’s Breakfast Macros: 842 calories, 67g of carbs, 32g of fat, and 67g of protein.
