We recently caught up with IFBB Pro and Kaged Muscle athlete, Fouad Abiad, at his home in Canada.
While there, we asked the experienced pro for some tips on nutrition.
So, he humored us and showed us how he likes to prepare each of the many meals he consumes at home during the day.
In this meal, Fouad makes his favorite bulking meal - pasta with ground turkey.
Fouad Abiad’s Lunch
Fouad understands that there’s nothing new to cooking pasta, and he cooks it just like many of us have learned how to do it.
It’s not his favorite version of pasta, which would typically include some ground beef. But, since he is working on bringing his stomach down this off-season, and he finds red meat to be particularly hard to digest, ground turkey is a fine substitution.
He opts for regular white pasta over whole wheat pasta due to the fact that whole wheat pasta has a lot of fiber and he doesn’t want his meal sitting in his stomach digesting for too long. He does mention that if you want to make guilt-free pasta, go for the rice pasta.
Fouad uses regular pasta sauce to coat his pasta. There’s nothing special about it, it’s simply a sauce that he enjoys to eat in the off-season.
After straining the pasta, he adds some olive oil to the pot and throws the amount of pasta he plans to eat back into the pot to increase the fat content and make it taste better.
Then, he adds in the pasta sauce, plates it, and tops it with parmesan cheese.
The big takeaway from Fouad is that if you want to get big, you have to eat calorie dense foods that you actually enjoy and can get down easily.
