In this video, Team Nutrex athlete and IFBB Men’s Physique Pro, Gerardo Gabriel, teaches us the right way to perform dumbbell flys.
Gerardo actually injured himself performing the dumbbell fly and had to completely relearn how to perform the movement.
He recommends that when you perform the movement, to always keep a slight bend in your elbows. Never go straight out as this will put tension on the AC joint.
Also, the further you go pass parallel the more stress you put on the joint, so stop once your elbows have hit parallel.
When it comes to dumbbell flys, it’s all about time under tension. There’s no need to go super heavy with a fly movement. Instead, focus on perfect form and using an appropriate rep tempo for your goals.

Those look more like neutral grip presses to me. Elbows should have a slight bend. His elbows almost bend 90 degrees in that video.
