In our popular Youtube series, Clean Fast Food, we have pros take us through the drive-thru of popular fast food chains to show us what they order to meet their macro requirements.
In this episode, Team ALLMAX athlete Steve Kuclo takes us to McDonald's and Burger King.
Watch the video or read on to learn what he orders and why.
McDonald's
The first stop for Steve is at McDonald's. Here, he shows us what he would order if he was on the go and needed a quick breakfast.
His order consists of 3 egg white delights and a small orange juice.
Egg whites are a low-fat protein source. The English muffin is a healthier option when it comes to bread sources. And it will all fit his macros.
The orange juice isn’t the best whole food source of fruit, obviously. But the carbs will help him power through his workout later in the day.
Each egg white delight has about 20g of protein and 30g of carbs – all while being fairly low fat. The protein comes from the egg whites, ham, cheese, and a little bit from the bread. The carbs come from the bread and orange juice.
McDonald's Macros - 990 calories, 56g of protein, 121g of carbs, 30g of fat
Burger King
The next fast food option is more of a lunch option. Steve knows that most cities have Burger Kings and that’s what he selects for his fast food lunch order.
There, he orders 2 grilled chicken sandwiches without mayo.
Each sandwich has about 40g of protein and 40g of carbs. By holding the mayo, you also lower the total amount of calories by reducing the fat content of the meal.
Burger King Macros – 720 calories, 72g of protein, 78g of carbs, 14g of fat
