Earlier this year, the Muscle & Strength media team traveled to Florida and met up with Redcon1 athlete Matt Morgan.
Matt’s a former professional wrestler who is now a family man, physique competitor, salesman, and politician.
Oh yea, and he’s massive – standing at 7ft and weighing 300lbs.
In this video, we take you through a day in the life of Matt Morgan, aka “The Blueprint”, aka “The Genetic Giant”.
A Day With Matt Morgan
Every day, Matt starts off by eating his breakfast which consists of 14-16oz of liquid egg whites and 300g of jasmine rice. Matt works with a coach, AJ Simms (Simms Solutions), who helps him with his diet and workout routine. The particular diet program Matt is currently on has him eating 8oz of ground turkey and 300-325g of jasmine rice every 2-3 hours.
On January 7th, 2014 Matt’s son Jackson was born. The second he was born, Matt decided he never wanted to spend a night away from his son and retired from professional wrestling. At age 3, Jackson was diagnosed with moderate to severe nonverbal autism.
Matt stayed retired for a couple of months after the birth of his son, but still felt he should be contributing something and had an itch to be in a competitive field once again. He landed on sales – an extremely competitive profession.
So, Matt began working with Venus Concept, a global leader in the medical aesthetics industry. On this particular day, Matt visits with Dr. Green to gather market research for the product launch of the Venus Heal.
Twice a year, Matt also competes in bodybuilding for both Classic Physique division and Men’s Physique division. For obvious reasons, he’s been named “The World’s Largest Physique Competitor”.
On November 7th, 2017, Matt was elected the Commissioner of Longwood, Fl. As Matt is getting ready for his commissioner’s meeting, we see how his injuries from professional wrestling are now affecting his life. The double bicep tears, as well as pec tears, now limit his range of motion to the point where buttoning the top buttons on his collar are nearly impossible.
Prior to leaving for his meeting, Matt measures out his food for a meal. During his wrestling career, Matt didn’t focus on diet due to his intense training sessions. He even reflects back on wrestling and states that there’s nothing nearly as demanding on the cardiovascular system as wrestling every night.
Many of the citizens of Longwood provided the support Matt needed to win his election. He had his image painted on one of the most traveled highways in the city next to tributes for fallen police officers, which Matt was very honored by. Additionally, he had a 12 ft. replica of himself standing on the busiest intersection of the city.
Matt had a very grass roots campaign that he’s very proud of. On the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month at 6pm, Matt attends the Commissioner’s meeting where it is part of his duties to help interpret the law.
Matt’s motivation stems from doing the right things to help get his city cleaned up now and provide a better future for his son and generations to come. And his goal is to make Longwood a place where people decide to live their whole lives, instead of using it as a stepping stone to move someplace else.
