We recently teamed up with team Dymatize athlete David Morin to create some exclusive content to help our fans achieve their fat loss and muscle building goals.

David is known for keeping a shredded physique 365 days a year.

In this video, he gives us his top 3 tips for staying lean year round.

1. Calculate Your Macros

The first tip David gives us is to always calculate your macros. This will be different for everyone based on their own calorie needs. To find out your daily calorie needs, use our bmr calculator here.

David finds the ideal ratio to stay lean is 2:2:1. For every 2 grams of protein, you have 2 grams of carbs, and 1 gram of fat.

2. Macro Manipulation

David’s second tip is to manipulate your macros once you’ve calculated them. The two you want to focus on manipulating are your fats and carbohydrates.

How you manipulate your carbs and fats will depend on how you train. For example, high fat/low carb diets are best paired with a high volume and steady state cardio workout routine. Alternatively, high carb/low fat diets are best paired with a high intensity and HIIT workout program.

3. Intermittent Fasting

David’s third secret to staying shredded is intermittent fasting. This is where you use a brief window of eating to manipulate the amount of calories you take in within the day.

For David, he likes to maintain a 12-6pm feeding window. During this feeding time, he consumes all of his calories and macronutrients for the day.
