This is a healthy country comfort food side dish recipe that features everyone's favorite meat - bacon, along with the sweet combination of apples and raisins.

Ingredients

  • 3 Large Turnips, Peeled and Diced
  • 1 Large Tart and Sweet Apple, Diced
  • 1/4 Cup of Raisins
  • 2 Slices Bacon, Cut Into Small Pieces
  • Cinnamon to Taste
  • Stevia to Taste
  • Coconut Oil

Cooking Instructions

Heat coconut oil in heavy skillet, add in diced turnips, and apple.  Sprinkle with cinnamon as desired.

Cover and cook until turnips start to get tender.  Add raisins and bacon pieces.  When ingredients start to brown, turn over with a spatula.

Cook and turn over as many times as needed to reach desired  brown color.  Remove from heat and add Stevia to taste.

Makes 4 servings.
