What do you love most about figure and fitness?

The one thing that I love the most about figure and competing is the fact that you are able to show your true strength as far as the dedication that it takes to actually get on stage and compete. The feeling of getting on stage with hopes of winning can be overwhelming but yet rewarding in the end.

What keeps you motivated?

What truly keeps me motivated is seeing other people's faces light up when I tell them that I transformed my body, and that I will continue to keep my health in order naturally, and that they can do it too. The feeling that I get by inspiring others to live healthy by my own personal achievements is the greatest motivation.

Rashidat OweWhat are your future goals, dreams and plans?

My future goals and plans are to continue competing in figure competitions, eventually pick up a couple sponsorship deals and much more. The health and fitness industry is a billion dollar industry and with that said, I plan to touch as many people around the world with my story in hopes that they change their lifestyle to living healthy!

How often do you perform cardio?

My cardio consist of cycling. Cycling class is as an organized indoor activity. It is a form of exercise with classes that focus on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity (race days) and recovery. Classes involve using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting.

I am a group fitness instructor and I teach cycle classes 5-6 days for a week for one hour. It is important to keep cardio consistent so that your heart can remain strong.

What are some of the biggest training mistakes you’ve made?

In the beginning I use to just do cardio because I never wanted to get too muscular. Well that fooled me. It is important to incorporate weight training and cardio to maintain a healthier look.

I usually prepare my meals every 2-3 days. I like to prepare my snacks and cook breakfast everyday to keep it fresh.

Rashidat OweMy favorite meal of the day is my breakfast which is ¼ cup of uncooked oatmeal, 6 egg whites and one cup of black tea.

What are your favorite cheat meals and foods?

Some of my favorite cheats are FRENCH FRIES! YUMMY! Believe it or not, I eat chicken everyday for my proper protein and yet I still LOVE chicken. It can be cooked so in so many ways.

What are some of your favorite motivational quotes?

“It never gets easier. You only get better.“
