About Damon Weinhold

As a vegan of 5 years, I began powerlifting as a means to debunk the frail, pushover stereotype associated with my diet. I started my journey at 155 lbs, and had never worked out a day in my life. In the last three years I've spent countless hours with different training partners and coaches, and have seen vast changes in my size and strength.

With a continued mindset of attaining goals regardless of my diet, drug-free lifestyle, or commitment to work and school, I began researching nutrition and its application to muscular and strength gains. Through ongoing research I have come to understand how what we consume can affect our performance and growth, and by applying these principals to my training and diet I have been able to effectively bulk, cut, and add weight to all of my lifts.

Currently, when I'm not teaching or being taught, I am training to compete in my first sanctioned event where I hope to earn at least a 1200 lb total in the Raw 181 class. I have been fortunate enough to be a part of The Compound in Columbia, SC, surrounded by world class, record-holding athletes who have helped to push my training to the next level.
