Bench Press Calculator - Calculate Your 1 REP MAX

Average: 4.2 (214 votes)
4.2 5 214
The Muscle & Strength bench press calculator can be used to work out your approximate 1 REP MAX bench press. These figures are not 100% accurate, but it serves as a good guide!

This bench press calculator can be used to work out your approximate 1 REP MAX bench press. The way this bench calculator works is it takes the amount of weight you can bench for a certain number of reps and uses a formula to calculate your approximate 1 REP MAX. Obviously, these figures are not 100% accurate.

To use the bench press calculator simply enter the weight in the first box provided and select the number of reps from the drop down box. For example, if I benched 100kg for 10 reps I would enter 100 and select 10 reps. The bench press calculator works in both pounds and kilograms.

You people should quit looking a this calculator and start lifting. When you look at a tool like this your mind immediately limits itself to what is published. When truly, the mind has no limits and is able to accomplish anything. QUIT LIMITING YOURSELF!

Russ has a good point though. This calculator is fun an pretty accurate for me too but I'm trying to increase my max and increase my 225's. Certainly anytime I lay down on the bench I'm trying to improve any numbers I can.

I am 42 years old 6' 220 & I used this only out of curiousity- After 2 1/2 decades of training I, like many others, have endured injuries that make a 1RM not safe or reasonable to attempt...live to lift another day & all that. Just today I did 260 x 14 & 275 x 12, according to the calculator both lifts put me about the same max weight 375-380. So if you don't really anticipate doing a 1RM, this is a safer way to estimate your max.

I have found it is damn accurate for heavy weights. 308 lbs, Last night on heavy bench night I pushed 475x3=bout 520 raw.

It's pretty accurate in the mid 4's as well. I hit 390 for 5 yesterday and this calculator says I should be at 455, I was able to lock out 450 a few weeks ago so it seems dead on

I am in the minority of people: this calculator overestimates my one rep max by about twenty pounds. This makes sense though, since I do more endurance training than the average weightlifter.

I'm amazed at how close this bench press calculator figures. I actually get creative by doing various weights at various reps just to see what it calculates. It actually makes working out a littler more fun!

Today I benched 245 10 times and 275 4 times. My one rep max is between 310 and 320 so this is real close. I'll be using this tool a lot.

Im 5 Ft 7 and only 120 pounds, pretty skinny guy. I usually do 110-115 about 10 times, which puts me to about 145-155 max rep. I did 160 max the other day, took all the force in my body but I did it, so this is pretty accurate

Just under 6'3", 247 lbs., put up 315 for a solid 9 no spot, prob could have got 10 but was by myself and didn't want to risk that hard 10th rep. Calculator says I should be able to hit just over 400 on a 1 rep, pretty intimidating, ill probably train hard for the next 6 weeks, and get a few heavy negatives in to make sure the ligiments and tendons are as strong as the muscle and give it a shot, would be a pretty incredible milestone to hit right before my 30th birthday!!!

This wasn't too bad. I do 345 for a set of 5 and it said I could get 402.5 for a max. I can get 405, and I'm 16 going on 17, but I'm also 6'2 240.

I'm going to pretend I'm commenting on the accuracy of this thing, but really I just want everyone to know about me and how cool I think I am. So here it goes:

This thing is awesome! I'm 185 lb and I can bench 400 lb about 16-17 times, which according to this means I can bench 601.6 lbs! I just maxed out this morning on squat, deadlift, power clean, bench, and weighted pull ups. I squatted about 905 lb, deadlifted 1200, powercleaned 800, benched 605, and did 72 pull ups with a 45lb plate. So all in all, it was only 3.4 lbs off!

Incredible tool!

I am 6'3 I weigh 230 with 27.9 body fat I did 290 x 6 times and it says my max is 348 which I round to 350 I find it's more accurate wen you calculate lower reps 4-6 instead of 8-10 but I have yet to official max my self out so this calculator is all I have....good luck

5'9 162. This thing is pretty accurate if you don't count lame half reps, improper tech reps, or spotter help. I can rep 255 about 6 times now. Which means my max is 300. For a few months I was stuck at 290 so hopefully it's true. I think it is. I'll shoot a max and tell.

Ha, I'm not sure about it. While I haven't tried it yet, I just did 225x10 yesterday but I have a hard time believing I can get 300 lbs up. I remember one point a while ago I actually tried a 1 rep max at 275 and I could do 215 about 8 or 9 times and I didn't even come close, only got it up about 8 inches. Cool it works for others but I don't think it's accurate for everyone.
