Bench Press Calculator - Calculate Your 1 REP MAX

Average: 4.2 (214 votes)
4.2 5 214
The Muscle & Strength bench press calculator can be used to work out your approximate 1 REP MAX bench press. These figures are not 100% accurate, but it serves as a good guide!

This bench press calculator can be used to work out your approximate 1 REP MAX bench press. The way this bench calculator works is it takes the amount of weight you can bench for a certain number of reps and uses a formula to calculate your approximate 1 REP MAX. Obviously, these figures are not 100% accurate.

To use the bench press calculator simply enter the weight in the first box provided and select the number of reps from the drop down box. For example, if I benched 100kg for 10 reps I would enter 100 and select 10 reps. The bench press calculator works in both pounds and kilograms.

I speak the truth you guys. I'm on a competition cheer team who has taken the World title 2 years in a row. We have mandatory work outs that we have to do to stay on the team. I'm home schooled so cheer is pretty much all I do other than work out. Be jealous boys. I know I'm a beast.

I just turned 16 and i max out at 300 lbs, 360 for 1 rep. I have been lifting since i was 13 because of all the stress in my life and the lack of friends. When ever i feel bad, i lift.

I too, started mainly because of bad break up. Was with the girl for 7 year. I'm 5'11, weighed 138 when I started, only benched 95 lbs(starting), now I'm 155.5lbs benching 165 with a 1 rep max of 190 :| People love to talk big behind their computers lol.

You typed it in wrong. You type in your weight that you can bench and how many reps you can do to get your max. You don't type in your age or how much you weigh.

I am 28, 5'10 weigh 245 and my 1 rep max is 265. Not overly impressive but just happy I can push a little over my weight. This calculator is pretty dang close.

Thanks Rob for the helpful information. To others, no one cares how young/old you are and how much you can bench. Instead, how about adding useful info on the accuracy of this tool and what guidelines were used to get the approximation.

Although this may work for bigger guys with more muscular endurance it fails on accuracy for guys such as myself. I am 6'2" about 175 and put up 300 pounds in a one bench max. I can only lift 225 about 6 maybe 7 reps on a good day, by the calculations i should be somewhere between 270-278 which is almost 30ilbs off.

Pretty sceptical that a guy your size can bench 7 reps on 100kg. Are you sure that all 7 of those reps were from lockout to chest and back up without a spotter even touching the bar? You might be telling the truth, but if the spotter took even 1 or 2 kilos off the last two reps then it was only 4 or 5 in which case the calculator brings it down to what you said. Cheers :)

Rohan its possible to weigh 175 and bench 300 Im only 5'8 and I max at 295, But I rep 225 11 times so that is a little different, without a spotter giving me a lift or helping me out. It just depends on how you train ur diet and some guys are really bulky liek my brother he is 200 lbs butr only maxes 265, Ive seen guys weighing 165 and bench 270, crazy

270 at 165 is nothing special. I'm ~172 and can rep 225 lb (100kg), 15-16 times. Max bench = ~315 but calc says i should be able hit 338 I know guy benching 405 at 187pounds and other guy who can bench 500 at only 220pounds of bodyweight

Most calculators will tell you that they are not that accurate once you go beyond 8-10 reps. Doing that many reps shows you have good muscular endurance at that weight but it is hard to extrapolate 16 reps to a 1RM, no matter what formula is used (there are a few, google them and see which is the most accurate for you and keep using that one if you are curious about where you are at but not wanting to actually max out).

Btw I'm 190 and can do 225 12 times.. Just completed a workout today doing 245 8 times.. 265 5 times.. 285 3 times.. all of which work out to about a 310 max. I haven't maxed out in few months, when I hit 300 even.
