What is nitric oxide?

Nitric oxide (AKA NO or NO2) is a free form gas that is produced in the human body. It's a signaling molecule and is used by cells to communicate with other cells. This gas is produced by enzymes in the body by breaking down the amino acid Arginine.

What does nitric oxide do?

Nitric oxide increases blood flow throughout the body. For bodybuilders and resistance trainers, this means more blood to the muscles and better "pumps". Many nitric oxide users have reported increased muscle growth when supplementing with nitric oxide.

How do I take nitric oxide?

Nitric oxide comes in 2 forms, pills and powders. Positive feedback has been received on both pills and powder products.

As mentioned above, there are 2 ways you can take nitric oxide. But nitric oxide products have evolved a lot, and now nitric oxide is being combined with other ingredients to form complete pre-workout drinks. Some good examples of these are BSN's NO-Xplode and Gaspari Nutrition's Super Pump 250. These products contain a blend of nitric oxide, creatine, vitamins, sugars and stimulants for a complete pre-workout drink.

Pure nitric oxide products are still very popular and widely used amongst bodybuilders. Some good examples of pure nitric oxide products include Pinnacle NOX2 (one of the first nitric oxide products to come out) and NOW AAKG 3500.
