This is a very good cheap casein protein, it does it's job and tastes good. My only complaint is that this product is ALWAYS out of stock for usually more than a month. They have inefficient stock control for this one product and they need to look at this problem to ensure others can get what they want at the right time.

I I just received this today. I got the unflavored one because all the others were out of stock. The unflavored iis literally "unflavored". Strangely, I like it, oh and it really has no flavor. Besides, just the water that I do mix it with, mmixability was easy.

The only complaint I had was the taste, I've tasted better chocolate flavored protein shakes. I found that it doesn't completely dissolve, after mixing it in the shaker, found small chunks of the powder. Next order I'll be trying out the Vanilla Bean. Great Brand, just not a 10 star flavor, still recommendable

Well as one of the reviewers said the texture of the powder is quite fine, kind of like that of flour, but it shouldn't really matter anyways since you'll be mixing it in water or w/e.

The vanilla bean flavor tasted quite good and is a pretty pleasant drink to look forward to before I go to bed.

BTW the nutritional info for the Vanilla Bean is a little different from what they have listed so I guess I'll just put it down here.

My review below of the Vanilla Bean is still how I feel about the quality of this Casein. However, this time I tried the Chocolate Frosting. I don't like it as well; in fact, it's rather bad, and doesn't taste like chocolate frosting to me.

Now then, Dymatize's Elite Casein has changed its formula for, "new, improved taste," and it's not as good as it used to be. So, my recommendation has changed completely. Buy MGN's Vanilla Bean Casein.

Decided to try this brand after pricing going up with ON casein and was impressed. The taste was very good, mixed up easily in a shaker with water or milk, and there was not nasty aftertaste. Definitely recommend it for before bed and between meals, I will be buying from from this brand

I've used three different brands of Casein--GNC, Dymatize Elite and Elite Gourmet, and MGN's.

For this review, I'll assume that all three manufacture true and pure Casein.

If cost were not a factor, I'd use the Dymatize product--in powder form, it's a little coarser, but seems to blend the easiest, and has the best taste (in Vanilla--haven't tried chocolate).

However, the MGN is finer--when I scoop it, it will often have voids, due to the consistency of the powder packing into the scoop. I'm likely not getting consistent scoops, but I'm not really concerned about that. The MGN still mixes easy enough, with either a spoon, or a shaker (or a blender, for that matter).

The flavor of the vanilla is pretty darn good by itself. I mix it with orange Metamucil anyway, and it combines nicely, and tastes like an orange julius.

The MGN is about $2 cheaper for 2 lbs. than the Dymatize. That outweighs the flavor and mixability difference for me.

Results: I am rarely hungry in the morning when I take the MGN Casein at bed time. I believe that it is helping delay catabolism during sleep, and I rely on it to help me achieve my goals. It is a staple of my supplements.

I'm very happy with the MGN, and I'm sticking with it.

This product has a bitter after taste. The main reason for purchasing this product was for meal replacement and to take before sleep. The manufaturer product description states that its use promotes "feeling of fullness". Not at all.

Both of these flavors are good. I mix mine with a teaspoon of Arginine before bed, the Vanilla masked the taste of the Arginine better. Its Casein so it has a different texture and taste than that of normal Whey. But for Casein this is very tolerable. Overall I wake up less hungry and feel it has helped build in the past.

Mixes better and tastes batter than cytosport and ON casein. Doesn't thicken up too much when mixed with a small amount of water
