June Training Question:

How do I work out my maximum heart rate?

Answer:

When performing your cardio use the following formula to work out your maximum heart rate. (MHR) and your target heart rate (THR): Maximum heart rate (MHR) in beats per minute (bpm) = 220 minus your age. THR range (bpm) = [MHR x 0.65] to [MHR x 0.75]. Example: THR range for a 30 yr old male is: MHR: 220 – 30 = 190bpm. THR: 190 x 0.65 = 123 bpm. 190 x 0.75 = 143 bpm. So THR = 123 bpm to 143 bpm.
