Hogging machines is #1 for me. I hate guys that are working out alone and refuse to let anyone jump in and get a set done while they're resting between sets. They just sit on the machine. I don't expect them to let me and 4 friends jump in on their break time but if I'm alone and they're alone and it's the only machine, there's no reason why we can't rotate and why I can't get a set in while they're resting.
In not to distant second is not putting weight plates away when you're done with them. I hate walking over to a barbell and having to take 180 pounds of someone else's weights off the bar and putting them away before I'm able to do my own sets of benching. Same with the preacher curl bars.

Even worse is someone sitting on a machine yacking on the phone! I think phone calls should only be allowed in the lobby area.

I just want to add there is an UPside to overcrowding...
My gum is provided by the Corp I work for so as with most offices it is more women than men
It's funny how much longer I can stay on the bike for my cardio sessions when there is a nice lycra-clad arse bouncing on the treadmill in front of me

Overcrowding fo sho, i go to fitness first so their ethics are just bang as many ppl in as you can possibly get.
Its impossible to get any free weights between 6pm and 8pm

One of the things I hate the most is unracked dumbells
This is mostly caused by overcrowding....
Yesterday I was trying to do some skullcrushers on a bench, and just to sit down I had to sort my feet around a load of dumbells I DIDN'T put there.
Not to mention I had to take time off of my breaks to rack those dumbells I didn't use.
Most annoyingly, it wasn't the heavier dumbells (which were also unracked) that were there... just the 7, 10 or mostly 20 kg. bells.
Nobody cares about the "For your safety: rack your weights" sign and just don't mind tripping over free weights scattered all over the gym's floor

There is a guy at my gym who for some reason stretches right in the way of everything, he doesn't go off to the side or anything, and he warms up in the same spot too just doing to weirdest excercises and stretches. One day im just gonna drop the free weights on him cause im tired of trying to manoeuver around him.

I voted for smell. There's this one guy at my gym, he has the worst body odor that I've ever encountered. When he's around, I work out with whatever equipment is on the opposite side of the room.
