I'd say wrestling...It's the power of every muscle in your body, against the power of every muscle in your opponent's body. Mix that with a 5 min round...
You'd need strength, as well as good stamina.

I would say boxing and track are the most vigorous. Although wrestling is pretty brutal as well.

Track and Field/Cross Country Distance Running.

When running a long workout (10-18 miles non-stop) it takes ALOT of will power to keep going. Not to meantion the actual races.

Probably boxing as very few sports have such a close split focus on cardio/stamina and stregth/power.
Wrestling probably a close second.

Unless you mean "Smackdown" kinda wrestling on TV, they'd win as they have to add in acting classes and prop practice too LOL

I would definitely say boxing, not because the training for other sports is easy but because the training for boxing is HARD. Extreme amounts of cardio, lifting whenever you can get time for it, and SPARRING. In what other sport does your training involve being punched in the face and kidneys several times whenever you make even the slightest mistake that your partner can exploit? I know one trainer in Elko, Nevada who involves putting your hands behind your back and absorbing 30-50 punches to your gut a part of nearly daily training. I rest my case.

I would think that cycling by far would require the most vigorous training, though I did'nt see it as an option to vote on.

good call bringing up MMA!!

ALL the riguors of boxing AND wrestling training AND getting your joints bent backwards too!

All while getting kicked, elbowed, punched....

Pretty godd incentive to improve though!

Boxers do try to get big obviously, its a good asset to withhold those punches, and to build strength to knock them senseless, but cardio is just as important, the cardio endurance of a boxer would be just as good as a footballers, boxers must endure round after round of hard force flinging from and upon their body, its tough and very enduring.

Yes, for most boxers(especially those that aren't heavyweights)endurance is much more important than size.
