Default Creatine on a full/empty stomach?

    Ok i've got a question!!!!

On my resting days i normally take my creatine with grapefruit juice straight after work (about 5ish) when i have a relatively empty stomach.

Would i be better taking it when i have a full stomach after my tea or shall i stick to what im doing?

It would be better to take it in the morning with water on non training days, or in a protein shake.

Is it important to take creatine on off days like protein or is it more for post-workout??

Creatine use should be everyday for muscle saturation

Basically, The dextrose is used as for glycogen (muscle energy) resynthesis, the dextorse causes a rise in blood sugars which makes the body release insulin which pushes the sugars into the muscle. by taking creatine with the dextrose it will push the creatine and sugars into the muscle..

Using creatine with water will mean that the creatine will eventually get into the muscle

You only need the dextrose post training....thats the time when glycogen/protein resynthesis is required, so adding creatine at this time is the optimum time for getting creatine into the muscle. if you leave it too long after training to get that meal then possibly not all the dextrose would be used for resynthesis and some of the sugars could be stored as fat. It has a lot to do with hormone release...

During a workout when we are depleting muscle glycogen an enzyme called glycogen synthase is released. The greater the depletion of glycogen the greater the enzyme activation, but a two hour delay in post exercise carbohydrate intake will result in only 50% of muscle glycogen will be resynthesized.

Take your post training dextrose and creatine immedietly you finish the running

ok thanks Doug. One last question is that i usually workout later on and i take my creatine about 1 hour before bedtime (right after my running and weights) and then i take protien about 40 mins later prety much right before bed. Is it ok that i dont get my post workout meal because i dont want to eat all that before bed time or it will become a lot of fat since i am cutting right now. and is it ok to take creatine that late before bed, i noticed it has 75g carbs and 310 calories in it which is a lot for before bedtime. thanks for the help
