    Default Lunch question

For lunch I eat either Ham or Turkey with swiss cheese and I was wondering if these were good ones to eat. The ham is Low Sodium Boars Head Ham and the Turkey is Honey Maple Turkey are those good, or are their better ones?

I disagree, but regardless of the article I'm posting, you will more than likely explode on our research studies:

However, if you can get the calories in in 3-4 meals then kudos to you.

It DOESN'T matter. Just eat enough food, get stronger, and sleep. Doesn't matter if you don't eat 6 meals a day, doesn't matter if you dont get 1.5g-2g of protein per lb of bw, doesn't matter if you train fullbody or split or if you drink carbs or even whey post workout, doesn't matter if you train fasted. The big guys at the gym in 70's and 80's all only ate 3-4 meals a day, why don't you listen to them like your sig says.
Always put in 110% in everything you do so that when someone else shows up with 100%, you still got 10% on them.-Chidi Ekebere

So, you're saying I'm dumb for thinking that?

Think what you want. I'll laugh when you get banned again.

    Edit:

Why would you need to take in so much protein by the way? 400g of protein equals 1600 calories by the way.

OP'S question was about alternative sources of processed turkey and ham. None of what you guys are fighting about...

LH - 1-7 meals per day is broscience. I'm not saying it's bad. It's really personal preference. But to say that IT IS bad to get your macros in 3-4 meals as opposed to eating every 2 hours is pure broscience.

Also, Boar's Head deli meats and cheeses contain no fillers, gluten, artificial flavors, colors or trans fat. Don't give the OP bad information. You are referring to processed deli style meats. Boar's Head is not processed. You made a thread to point out people giving bad information and now you are doing it.

I pointed out to Andrew that having 300-400 grams of protein and just as many carbs or more, in 3 meals is a bad idea. Why would you do that instead of spreading it out over more meals. You think sitting down and having 100-125 grams of protein along with 125-200 grams of carbs in one meal is a good idea??

Like I said, there is no advantage in 7 meals over, say, 3-4, meals. The Lean Gains article Andrew posted debunks that myth. T Nation also has sever articles on the topic supported by scientific studies. It's a personal preference. If you enjoy eating every 2 hours and don't mind prepping all those meals, that's ok. But to say you have to do it that way is just silly.

Agreed. And to spout off calling someone dumb or whatever is douchebaggery... period. And like others have said, if you hit your cals/macros divided up whenever in any given 24 hrs., your diet is fine.

In regard to the cold cuts, I agree there's better less processed food to eat, but you don't have to eat clean to get strong. It just has to have the cals/macros. Now, to live a long healthy life, that's different, but I would try to not rely 100% on cold cuts for lunch.

But yeah... lotta broscience going on up on this mug.

Yes that ham, turkey and cheese is fine. Try putting it in between bread and you're in sandwich heaven my friend. I wouldn't get rid of the cheese for 2 reasons; it's delicious, it easily fits into macros especially swiss, which was a wise cheese choice to begin with and using good brands of meat.

I didn't mention anywhere that I only eat 3 meals a day. Anyone can eat a "lunch" like you say and still eat 5 to 6 meals a day, a meal doesn't have to consist of the same portion each meal..... Also Swiss cheese is fine to eat, besides cottage cheese, its one of the best cheeses to eat if you are going to eat cheese.

My question was about the ham and turkey, if their were any better choices of the same type of food than those two that I mentioned, I have my meals in check..... Thanks for your input.
