    Question what cardio to do

    Hi guys,

I haven't posted here in ages. I recently got told by my GP that I got an inflamed knee after an ultrasound and need to rest it. I'm currently cutting and still want to do cardio. Do you guys recommend any cardio exercises I could do? I know I could/should skip the cardio thing and recover and just lift weights (no legs day) but if there are any suggestions out there.

    Thanks.

It will be pretty difficult to do alot of cardio with a bum knee. However, have you looked around for some circuit workouts that are light on the knees? Circuit training is a great replacement for cardio, in my experience anyway...

I think if you work around your injury you should be fine.

A stationary bike and performing some low intensity steady state cardio (LISS) on it could help you maintain/improve your general cardiovascular fitness.

If you have knee issues I would definitely recommend giving running and sprints a break.
The beauty about a stationary bike is that it doesn't exactly produce much if any stress on your joints.

    Consistency is the key

Skating, whether it be on roller blades or on ice (my personal preference, if you have the means) is also easy on the knees and virtually no impact... providing you don't fall on your knee(s). And by "skating", I don't mean skateboarding.

I would stick to the bike like advised above, if you can handle it, maybe do some treadmill walking(on high incline 70-80%MAX) walking at a pace of 3.0-3.2.
