With the amount you are performing that often, it probably won't do much if anything for muscle growth - if anything it will probably just eat into your recovery. Your endurance will benefit here, but in terms of building strength and size there won't be too much happening.

The limiting factor with push ups is that progression will only occur with increasing the reps, this will eventually not be too great for muscle growth itself as a tool of overloading as you will be performing a large quantity of reps.

The bulk of your muscle size and strength increases will be from resistance training itself, increasing the weights and progressing over time.
    Consistency is the key

so your saying the number of reps I'm doing now is just for endurance? and if i will put more reps on that then it will give me some gain in my muscles?

meaning doing push ups every morning is okey? even I'm planning to work out later the afternoon? it won't over train my body or any kind of negative effect?

    No, he's not saying that.

He is saying the reps are too high to put on muscle. Doing pushups will ruin your recovery, effect your bench press performance and SLOW your progress in getting strength/size from benching.

What pushups will do is give your chest muscles more endurance.

    okie now i understand ..
there's negative and positive effect on doing push ups that has low reps..
negative slow my progress in getting size and ruin my recovery.
positive gives endurance to chest muscles.

no more push ups for me . if i really want to build some size

    thanks!
