First of all, protein bars usually work out to be far more expensive than powder forms.

Powders come in heaps of different flavours, it may take a little bit of time researching different flavours through different brands etc.

Protein bars usually carry a high saturated fat, sugar and/or high sodium content aswell, not exactly ideal for general health and reaching results.

Do you not like protein powder purely because of the taste? As I mentioned above, powders come in lots of different flavours, powders are cheaper per serve and generally better for you ( depending on the powder you buy ).

Scrutiny is dead on - nice one sir.

If you have a blender, you might try blending some protein powder with a little milk, ice and yogurt and add something you like, like berries, banana, even a little ice cream topping if needed for flavor.

Just don't go overboard as the idea is to acclimate yourself to the taste so you will eventually wean away some of this.

Sounds like you tried a chalky brand. There are many that don't taste like a pro powder at all. Bars are ok for on the go, no time to eat, last resort. Post w/o a shake absorbs faster and better.

Don't wright off pro powder from a few bad experiences. Try other brands ( I like AAEFX's pro powders) and flavorers.

Yeah it can be trial and error.... also invest in either a shaker Cup or get a cheap Blender... My wife recently had a baby boy and we got a few baby bullet food processors as gifts... I have used the blender on it to make some protein shakes and MAN the difference from a shaken to blended is literally night & day !

You will find a brand that you like the taste of , that mixes well.... some powders just suck for mix ability but are great taste... and vice versa ..

ya protein bars and powders are not the same. powders are going to get into your system faster for your post workout, and there not filed with all of the unhealthy crap that most bars are filled with. but ya i agree you must have had a bad brand because i love protein powder its like ice cream to me. and ive always found protein bars to taste like crap. there more of like a very very last resort as a meal substitute, very last.

here are a couple good tasting brands and formulas, that ive tried and enjoyed.
    MGN-whey isolate
    Scivation-whey
    Gaspari-myofusion

the mofusion is probably the best tasting protein that ive ever had but its a lil more pricey. you also have to find out what kind flavor you prefer which could change with different powders. but i always usually prefer chocolate. unless is casein protein then i like vanilla and cookies and creme.

goodluck though. it may just become an acquired taste to.

I would also recommend Whey Gold Standard by Optimum Nutrition ( ON ).

Awesome range of flavours, the 'cookies & cream' flavour is a must to try

I agree with all the rest powder is the way to go without a doubt but if you are dead set on bars id go for http://www.muscleandstrength.com/sto...pact-bars.html besides the high sat fat content they are pretty decently healthy.

Gatorade57, if you are always on the go, you better try protein bars. Anytime, anywhere, you can bring the bars with you. Check out the nutritional value so you could decide which one is better...the bars or the powder?

This question is for everyone: what makes a good protein bar?

    ------

Jojo is a protein bar rep with Good Greens.
