    Default Barbarian on a budget

    Short and sweet; I've been asked to dress as Conan for an up coming halloween party. I've had to start training at home for financial reasons, however my equipment is pretty limited.

    I have an olympic bar and about 250 lbs in plates as well as a standard bar and bench with about 200lbs in plates.
    I'm not looking to be Arnold, or even the new guy (whatever his name is) especially since I'm only 5'7"
    What I'm looking for is a routine that can help me get ready to be shirtless in front of a pretty large group of people

    Due to time constraints, I can train seriously 3 days a week, maybe four if I'm lucky.

    Any suggestions would be great.

    I would suggest you actually try to lose some body fat as that is going to make you look more in shape then anything else...getting big and bulky inst going to look as good with your shirt off .... my suggestions would be focus on what your going to be showing off...upper body...

    here is an idea for improvements on the upper body with your time constraints.

    Mon & Friday is gonna be heavy push / pull Wednesday is up in the air....but looking like a few powerful movements combined with some bodyweights

    Monday -

    Clean & press 3x sets of 10-12
    Bend Barbell Rows 3x sets of 10-12
    Close Grip bench 3x sets of 10-12
    Standing Barbell curl 3x sets of 10-12
    Skull Crushers 3x sets of 10-12
    Concentration curls 3x sets 10

    Wednesday -

    Dead Lift's at 50% 1RM for 3x sets of 15-20
    Standing OHP 3x sets 10-12
    Burpee's 3x sets failure { Alternate between 1 set Burpee's 1 set Dip until all 6 sets completed }
    Body Weight Dips 3x sets failure { Alternate between 1 set Burpee's 1 set Dip until all 6 sets completed }

    Friday -

    Clean & press 3x sets of 10-12
    Bend Barbell Rows 3x sets of 10-12
    Close Grip bench 3x sets of 10-12
    Standing Barbell curl 3x sets of 10-12
    Skull Crushers 3x sets of 10-12
    Concentration curls 3x sets 10

    Of course my idea of loosing some body fat is going to come into play with your diet... so if you can hold off drinking and bad foods until late October that would really help.

    Some Cardio will help you burn some extra calories if you really want to speed the process up.... but you have what 6-7 weeks to work at this ? Should be able to get some good results ! Of course I would try to fit in some sort of cardio for 20-30 minutes each day depending how active your job is...

    and finally ....

    Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!

    Post a current pic and we'll tell you how you have to go. 6 weeks is a pretty short time span for growth.

    Thanks for your input Ivan. I'll try this out

    Cuckoo, unfourtunately, I'm not able to post a pic, but in general, I'm not looking for some sort of radical transformation, I'm just looking for a way to get stared that makes up for my lack of a gym.
