Kick ass session Joe. That is some serious volume on your squats, enough respect to you for that. No need for any cardio after that session I bet

If you want to max out on the Goblets at 90 lbs (I would) cuz the DB is hard to hold onto for too long, do some frog squats right after the goblets, to really finish off the legs. Frog Squats are meant to be BW only for higher reps.

    23 Aug - back
    lunch wo - 45min
deads..135/10..185/6..235/5..260/2..260/1..260/1..190/8..190/8..did 1 more set of 1 than last session on 260..did 190 vs 185 last session
Wide grip pull up - plan is to try to work up to 3 sets of 10..10..6..5..4
Hammer strenght MTS high row machine ..50/10..60/10..65/8..haven't done in very long time, thought i would hit back a little different
Low cable row - v bar..120/10..120/10...haven't done in very long time, thought i would hit back a little different
    shrugs - drop set...85/10..45/10....85/8..45/10

Overall decent wo. Plugging away at deads, progression is a little slower than I like, but guess that is what i get for ignoring deadlifts for 30yrs
I am going to keep deads and wide grip pullups as staples, but begin to switch the last 2 exercises around a little to hit the back in different ways. Not every wo, but maybe evry other workout..thoughts on this??

Plugging away at deads is exactly how you have to progress on them Joe - and your doing just fine

Just speaking from my experiences the past couple of years, I would of course keep the deads and pull ups as staples. I was thinking of alternating grips on the pull-ups each session and alternating low rep weighted and higher volume BW pull ups from week to week. After pull ups, I would just do 3 sets of just 1 rowing movement such as pendlays, yates, regular BOBR's, or DB Rows, followed by the shrugs. That would be a pretty heavy duty back attack.

Good work on the deads and pu's Joe I think Jim has outlined a pretty good approach. FWIW I was doing 3 sets of 8 pullups alternating grip each set.

might give that a go, wide grip pullup, chin up, than neutral grip.

I'm jelly you have 10 friends - I only have 2. How about going for a lake swim as your workout

I am also just as happy for your pain-free pressing - way to go Joe Obviously, what your doing is working.

Hope this sets the tone for you to have a great time at the lake.

Nice boulder shoulder work Joe! Have fun at the lake. Plenty to do around there other than floating in 95 degree lake water

Nice boulder shoulder work Joe! Have fun at the lake. Plenty to do around there other than floating in 95 degree lake water

Welcome back Joe! I figured since you're damn near half a century old that you were just gonna retire on that lake
Good first session back. Flat is getting back up there, and incline is still silly strong!

Shoot, i wish I could. I priced a few houses out there and they was outrageous.
Thanks..had an inclination to add more to the flat, but going to take them slow and easy and let shoulder slowly adjust to added weight..

good work out Joe, i dont know why I always forget to do the bar x 10 or so reps to warm up. ON the reeves routine it really helped me to get ready for heavy squats

Awesome squatz my friend, especially the gobs. However, I musts scold you for even thinking of hurling your BCAA's. Hurling is just too catabolic

I sometimes get those nasty calf cramps
