Default Best time to take Carnitine?

Just wondering when the best time is. I read somewhere to take it before your workout, and somewhere else to take it before meals. +rep to whoever answers and gives me a reason why lol

Scientific studies have shown that you will optimize gains with creatine if you take it in two phases: the loading phase and the maintenance phase. The loading phase is designed to saturate the muscles with creatine, while the maintenance phase is designed to keep them saturated. For the average person, 5 grams of creatine should be taken 4 times daily for the first five days to complete the loading phase. The maintenance phase consists of taking only 5 to 10 grams per day.

The amount of creatine you should take depends on your weight, so take less if you are under average weight, and more if you are over the average weight (160 lbs). At 220lb, I would suggest taking 5 grams 6 times a day for the loading phase, and 2-3 times a day for the maintenance phase. All that being said, keep in mind that more is not necessarily better with creatine; it is only a waste of money.

Servings of creatine should be spread out over the course of the day. Try to take one serving right before your peak physical activity, and another serving right after. The best time to get creatine moved into muscle cells is immediately after exercise. If you can manage it, try to take creatine on an empty stomach so that absorption is maximized.

I read that carnitine should be taken an hour before your workout as it can benefit your cardiovasular system increasing energy and helps to improve resistence to muscle fatigue. Never heard of it being taken before meals but that doesn't mean it shouldnt be, i just don't know enough about it.

I know carnitine is used for many heart related conditions along with other things but cant really remember what.

As for creatine^^^^ as the post above.

Carnitine and creatine are 2 different things. The op is talking about loading carnitine which is a compound for moving fatty acids.

I think it's recommended to take it twice daily before meals.

Carnitine is best used (20mins or so) before a cardio workout. This basically gives it time to free up fat and that gets u ready to burn fat as then once u start the cardio workout the fat moves more easily to be used up by the mitochondria as fuel for the muscle

or that was my understanding of it anyway. not sure of the actual biological processes involved.
I believe some people take it periodically throughout the day etc as well

Right now I'm cutting and I take it at night (AAEFX Carnitine) 2 hours after my last meal and its working great for me. I tried around my work out and cardio but had less effects. But thats just the way my body reacts. Every one is diffrent.
