What types of routines would you suggest the average "Joe", wishing to become a bodybuilder, follow?

What does your favorite leg / lower body workout look like?

    His thoughts on diet?
eg. whether he promotes/uses unconventional dietary approaches (ie intermittent fasting, keto, etc...)

I understand he has a lot of clients on contest prep. Hows about a question relating to his overall philosophy on cutting fat for a competition. I know he can't give too many specifics on this but maybe like the overall cardio, diet, or routine he recommends to beginners

    Hopefully those two make sense....

What are your thoughts on aggressive (+500-800 calories) bulking? How would you suggest a trainee diet in order to achieve maximal muscle gains with minimal fat gains? Do you continue performing cardio during your off season? If so, how much and why? What type of diet do you suggest natural trainees should approach in hopes of achieving muscle gains? If you could only use one diet (calorie count under your control) what would it be? (ex. 30/50/20, 40/40/20, 50/30/20, keto, carb-cycle, etc..)

His study with rats showed maximum protein synthesis occurring with an infusion of bcaa's (or equivalent amount of protein) about 5 or 6 times per day. I know at some point he was advocating some bcaa's in between meals with about 10 grams of carbs. Does he still think this is an effective strategy for one trying to gain lean muscle mass? Some of the meal frequency studies dont seem to support this in humans.

^Or something to that effect. My memory is a bit vague on his study as it's been a while since I read it...

What he would do if he had a 5'11 240lbs(21% BF) person gain weight off of a diet that is around 2200-2500 calories and was trying to cut. What could they do to try and lose fat without muscle.(They train 4 days a week and do cardio 3-4 times a week).

I would be interested in his thoughts on a basic level of fitness and strength needed before trying a "bodybuilding" type routine.

What is the best thing to tell someone who only wants to work chest and arms? How many clients do you get that just want some "magic pill"? What is the strangest thing a doctor has ever told you? Do people at your gym think you are on steroids? What is the most "hardcore" thing you have ever done for the sake of bodybuilding? That could include a high 1 rep max, rediculous food you have eaten, odd supp any thing that comes to mind. Have you ever injured yourself? Who do you consider the most elite Bodybuilders in the natural scene not encluding yourself? If you could only go to the gym 3 days a week and only had time to do 3 different lifts, what would those 9 lifts be? Now for a woman would those 9 lifts be the same?

Don't know if it's too late or if this has been suggested but I would be interested in hearing his opinion on 3 day a week H/L/M, 3x5/5x5, full body-ish style routines for the natural bodybuilder. Also would like to hear his thoughts on progression.
