    Default Chest (Sternum?) Pain after Workout

    I know there's probably a topic about this somewhere but I just want something easy I can find, so my apologies..

    Do any of you guys ever feel pain in your chest after exercising (running, working out etc.)? I'm not too freaked out because this happens every so often, but since I ran at the gym tonight my chest has been sore- like the bone, my sternum I think. It just feels a sharp pain when I move around, kind of sore like I got punched in the chest. I just don't understand why because I didn't lift chest or anything and yet this happens. Anything in the chest area gets me jumpy but I'm pretty sure it's just the bone.. Usually when this happens though it's after doing chest, and then it lasts a couple days. Annoying.

    I used to get that feeling when I went too low for my muscles to handle on chest dips. Perhaps you're over stretching somehow?

    After a long period of running I do get pain in my sternum, its when because I breathe alot, or maybe its my heart working overtime.
    Also when I do bodyweight dips I feel it in my sternum.
    It could be muscle, like is that part of your chest developed? Mine has a split so I can feel my sternum, no muscle whatsoever on it.
