Default Why do my legs shake?

At some point during pretty much every workout, one or both of my legs will start to tremble or full-on shake. Last week I cut two of my bicep cable curl sets short, even though my arms could have finished all of the reps, because my right leg was shaking so much. It also happens on dumbbell chest press. Is this OK? Is it just because the weight is challenging for me?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It's fine. Your legs support your whole body so that makes sense to me. My legs usually only shake after doing legs though to be honest.

When I first started working out again, anything that cause my chest to tense, would cause the right side of it to shake enough to make my right shoulder area vibrate along with it. Stopped after a couple weeks. Then when I started getting the weight up on my shrugs, it happened for 2 weeks again.

    Stabilizer muscles maybe?

My Muscles shake when I work out. It has to do with your muscle type. Are you a very LOW Endurance person? If so you have fast twitch muscles.

What I find SLIGHTLY wierd is your legs shaking when your working another muscle. My muscle shakes that I am working very often even though I have been working out for a while.

I posted a similar question the other day. My right leg seems to do that too. Usually when doing back extension or the seated dip. I seem to put most of my weight on the left leg (or at least it seems to be the more stable one) and the right one tends to shake a bit. Maybe its because I do my leg exercises first.

Thank you all - I just wanted to see if it was something to be concerned about.

I have mostly slow twitch muscles. And yes, the shaking is definitely when I am working another muscle. It will happen on Back and Bicep day during the bicep curls, for example, but then stop as soon as I stop the reps.

Normally the muscles shaking is just a sign from your body that you are not used to this type of exercise/weight etc... Your legs may be shaking as they are the biggest muscle, then it is most noticable ??? I shake from time to time, its nothing to worry about unless it can cause your for to deteriate or it makes the exercise dangerous, for example if my arm shakes a lot during bench press then it is best I re-rack the weight

As you get more used to the weight training then I think it will subside. If it doesnt or it becomes too much of a proble then see your MD.

    hope this helps

Thanks, Carl. I guess this is a good reason for me to stick with my 3-day split for a while longer. (Have been wanting to move up to a 4-day split).

If your doing quad and hamstring work that will go away with time...

Until then do SEATED dumbbell curls

My legs will shake violently when doing any upper body workout after working legs out. I remember one time doing a bit of calf work and then later doing some gentle lat pulls and oh my god, I couldn't do them. I had to stop. Both legs were uncontrollably bouncing up and down. I felt a right fool!

I just don't bother doing legs anymore - too much like hard work
