    Thanks for uploading it Steve

BRUIN - Yes it is basic, but quite effective.
Nothing needs to be complicated, as long as you take each set to maximum effort and soak up the rests days you will be on your way to gaining.
The spice of the workout would have to be the dropsets for the arms, there is nothing easy about it
    Consistency is the key

    I agree.

I've used nothing but basic for nearly 25 years now and never needed anything else. Your routine is the kind I love.

I'm not hating on guys that like other forms of training; we all need to find our training engaging. But I have always loved the simply pursuit of more reps on basic exercises. This challenge excites me and makes me want to train.

This reminds me of Dougs 4 days split, which was amazing.

This kind of workout is what I like. Easy and fairly quick to do.

Think I'll also give this one a go, getting a bit bored with my current workout.

nice routine, just finished the first week of it and enjoyed doing different exercises to what i have been.

but i was always under the impression that doing bicep and triceps on the same day wasnt recommended in most programmes as you cant train the arms as hard when together? is there any truth in this?

Glad you are enjoying the routine.

Working the arms in the same session is completely fine.
Working them in the same workout can ensure that you will be able to work them fresh, as they will not be fatigued from any prior pressing/pulling movements.

The reason why I put arms in the same workout is because:

    1) You will be able to work them to their greatest potential
    2) They will be fresh, not fatigued from any prior muscles that can affect them ( Chest for triceps and Back for biceps ).
    3) It will be a short, intense workout to effectively hit the small muscles.

When training Triceps and Biceps in the same workout it shouldn't impact eachother, because...

    1) Tricep movements do not stimulate the biceps except when they act as an antagonist ( muscle that lengthens and relaxes to provide the movement )
    2) Bicep movements do not stimulate the triceps except as a antagonist

When performing a tricep exercise the biceps are not really stimulated to an effect that it could get fatigued. Same deal goes with bicep exercises with triceps.
