Default IS it good to alternate between fast twitch and slow twitch exercises?

    Hey,

Im a new member and recently found out about the fast and slow twitch exercises and the difference between them.

As Im interested in mainly gaining muscle for now would it be good just to stick with fast twitch, or would it be a good idea to alternate between the two types every week or so?

    cheers for any help given!!

    Hi welcome to the forum.

Training the fast twitch muscle fibres involves heavier weights and less reps than training the slow twitch fibres involves higher reps and lower weights

For building muscle, train the fast twitch fibres involving rep ranges between 6-12 reps (normally 8-10 reps)

    I agree...

Training slow-twitch training will give you muscular endurance.
    Training fast-twitch will build muscle.

    Default Thanks

Thanks for the help. But I actually already knew the difference, I was just wondering whether it would be good to alternate betwwen fast and slow so that I build size as well as endurance, or shall I just stick with fast twitch? Thanks again

Yes you can train both ways, it all depends on your personal goal, periodisation training involves different periods of the year split into sections, so you could do a few months of growth training and a few months of endurance then have a transition period between the two and start all over again, (or shorter periods)...Train whatever way you want and for whatever your personal goals are...
