Default Supps for a 46 year old women

    Hey guys,
My mother is 46 years old and runs an average of 15kms everyday.
A guy at the pharmacy told her that she should take Animal Pak as well as Muscle Milk.
What is your opinion on this?

    Thanks a lot.

At her age it would be best for her to take a calcium + Vitamin D supplement.

Not sure the whole "Animal Pak" is necessary.

As far as protein shakes go, Muscle Milk is expensive and she can get the same benefit from regular whey protein.

Hopefully she is also lifting weights and not just running. Although the impact from running will help maintain bone density, if she's not lifting weights she'll be losing muscle mass.

Older People benefit from whey > casein.
If she's running alot.. maybe Xtend can help her out abit!

I agree with the others above. A good protein supplement, or protein and carbs, plus a vit/min formulated for female athletes

As a 46 yr old woman.....I used to use Muscle Milk but switched to whey protein and casein... too many calories and other junk in Muscle Milk that I didn't like. Calcium and Vitamin D are essential for woman in this age group since hormonal changes can deplete calcium from the bones causing osteoporosis.

Also, as Doug said, a vitamin/mineral sup for women.

Ditto what the others said about weights, lifting builds muscle AND strengthens bones
