That is some feat for a kid even though it is wrong in ways, but just think of his potential there was an article somewhere saying why we should train younger ... not saying to that extent but the long term gains watched a show on this russian girl, strong as an ox and nothing at all wrong with her + she was very happy ... does make you wonder sometimes
    Bench - 231lbs x 5, Squats - 264lbs x 5, Deadlift - 363lbs x 5 Power Clean - 187lb x 5, Pull ups - BW + 44lbs x 5, Dips - BW + 66lbs x 5, Miltary Press - 143lbs x 5

Look into it a bit further and you'll come across him doing lots of gymnastic based workouts and bodyweight exercises, which would make muscles dense, as it did with the Russian girl that Coregains mentioned in his post (although she was doing power lifting), but MRI scans showed that her muscles were denser than the average persons. I'm also not entirely sure that the kid mentioned in this thread is not enjoying himself, even though all the siblings are seen doing gynastics...maybe they were introduced to it early on and to them it's just like play time???

This one really made me cringe, you'll see why about half way through!

I actually think the 200 lbs benching reference was a mix up, since the article also refers to Richard Sandrek and his 210 lbs press, so I think the OP assumed that meant the young kid, which it didn't.

Side effects may include; weight gain, increased appetite, increased sex appeal, huge arms, massive strength, XXL t-shirts, self confidence, low fat diet, sexy pectorals, sheer ballsiness, and penile growth. If muscle growth persists for more then four hours, consult a mirror.

If the father made him to that, THAT IS SICK!!!!!!!
On the other hand, if he is doing it as a personal choice and more as a hobby/sport/something to do, then good on him!

As long as he's careful he won't unjure himself, the only trouble is he may end up sorter than normal as his growth plates may be slightly damaged, but so long as he's careful, I don't see any harm in him doing this.

Its the same idea as a kid playing football, or basketball, or anything else for that matter. So long as its a personal choice, good on him!

The OP was referring to Sandrak and 200lb bench, Sandraks trainer believed his father was putting steroids in the supplements he was using.

As far as I was aware the OP was referring to the boy mentioned in the article...maybe the OP should clarify exactly which person he was actually talking about.

I just took another look at the thread title, the OP is NOT discussing Sandrak, it is the 5 year old, Stroe, who does NOT lift 200+ lbs that he is discussing.

Steroids or not, if a <80 pound 5 year old is benching 200 pounds then I might have to dig a hole outside and cry for a few hours.

Though because that is so ludicrous and outrageous, for now I'll just vent about how poor of a decision this is on the parents part. When I'm a parent I do plan on bringing my kids to the gym but its going to be all bodyweight for them only! No supplements, no weights, just some gymnastics and not until they are at least 8.

That is a very bold answer as there is a study to say it wont be detrimental to his health with proof!!!!!!

He is doing bodyweight exercises which we are told are ok at any age and are we being abit over the top in saying it wrong etc ? if it was a girl doing them people would not be so impressed at it basically boils down to gymnastics.

If he is forcing the child why does he smile when doing his training ? he may of been incouraged but forced i dun think so.

If it was a girl doing handstands on a bar at a gymnastics club then there would be nothing wrong with this but because its a boy who has a muscular physique for his age it is cruel and assumed to be forced, He may have been shown these things but as with all the children i know, they do what they want. He seems to enjoy doing it jus like another child enjoys football. Are we getting to the point where any sport placed upon a kid is forced ? I think not! We show them and if they like it they copy, This is how all animals learn.
