    Default Glutamine okay for teenagers?

    I haven't hit the gym in a month. Because of exams, work, and a recent vacation there has been no time to renew my gym membership.

    BUT, now its summer, lots of free time, and I'm ready to get back into the gym.

    While in the US, I picked up 300g of pure L-Glutamine powder, for 19.99. It says this is 66 servings so I couldn't complain on the price.

    The package says to take 1 scoop (4.5 g) twice a day. I plan on adding the glutamine to my protein shakes, and possibly in the morning just with a drink that I'm having.

    Is it okay for teenagers to consume glutamine? (I'm 16) And is this the way I should be taking it?

    If anyone could answers these questions that would be great. I also wanted to know if these are good serving sizes and when I should take it, etc.

    And don't worry, I'm eating healthy

    And are Omega 3 Fish Oil Pills with DHA and EPAs good to take when bulking?

    YEP!

    You can take it in the moring, post workout, and before bed. Thats when I take it, and 4.5 grams is good.

    Fish oil pills are good to take, WHENEVER.
    Current: 180 pounds, 9 % body fat
    Ready for more...
    Goal: 190 pounds and as low fat as possible by school next year

    I agree, fish oil pills are an excellent supplement!

    Fish oils should be taken all the time, no matter what phase you are in.
    I currently take them, and i find them a great, affordable supplement.

    fish oil is good to take whenever, they are healthy fats and good for your heart

    Does anyone else have any opinions on Glutamine? I want to make sure it's safe for me to take.

    And is Dextrose for PWO carbs a good investment?

    Dextrose should be used PWO, it is a good/cheap supplement.
    Dextrose is a good investment, as it is an important supplement yet affordable.

    yeah really cant see why glutamine would be bad for you in any way. its in basically every whey powder out there.

    i have real that taking too much glutamine can upset the balance of ammio acids in the body, maybe someone else could shed some light on this?

    but taking 10g a day is fine i think, PWO and before bed.

    Personally I don't think that would be an issue...
    I mean proteins are synthesized with specific amino acid sequences, so it's not like your body will just use glutamine or something. I've never heard of an amino acid imbalance as far as having too much, I've heard of deficiency from not having enough essential amino acids, but that is different.
