    Default Sick and can't keep anything down.

    This morning I was feeling fine. My wife was diagnosed with Strep Throat early this morning. Well I spent most of my day with her and guess what, I've got a 100.3 deg temp. I've taken Tylenol to try and keep my temp down. Visiting the ER is out of the question my insurance sucks and cost me 500 bucks each visit in copay. I can see Med'assist in the morning but they are closed right now. The problem is my diet is blown out of the water, I can't keep anything down. If I drink water It either flys threw me or comes back up. My throat is killing me so solid foods are out. All I have is jello and pudding, but thats dairy and will just make it worst. My lips have that numbing tingly feeling kinda like I'm dehydrated, I need some advice as to what I can eat or drink that will help. I'm not stupid I know I have to keep hydrated but my head hurts and moving to the computer to ask for help was bad enough.

    broth maybe? trying to think of things i i was avle to keep down when i was sick, crackers (like salteens) maybe?

    how about apple sauce for something cold or for something warm - tomato soup?

    Get a pot & put 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of sugar & 2 cups of red wine, then boil it till the point that you can just drink it without burning your mouth. Before this have a hot shower, drink it, then jump into bed with like 3 quilts, you will sweat it all out & feel much better in the morning.

    Drinking this might get you a little smashed, because it goes straight to your head, so you should fall asleep pretty quick.

    Also you might wanna wash your sheets, it can get pretty soaked lol.

    I would only do this if what you are feeling is unbearable & I wouldn't have a clue what a doctor would think about this method, not sure if it would be unsafe for anyone.

    Thanks for all the replies. I'm feeling a little better now, well atleast good enough to go to work. Man liquid and soft food diets suck. About the only thing I could keep down was low-fat yogut and pudding.

    So much for the diet I had going. LOL I'll be back at it hopefully by Wensday.
