Hey,
I just traveled from HK to USA and i put the whey powder in my mixer cup and in a ziplock bag for the same reason, space. I never got hassles, and if i did (other times), i told them it was whey protein, or a protein shake. The really meticulous guards would then ask for a sample, and i gave it to them. I dont think anyone would mistaken the taste of whey with coke or anthrax  |

You could always put it in your checked bag in the regular container so it's not so bulky. Or maybe buy some of the individual serving size packets.

i hate airport security last time i was there they wouldnt give me my ticket for an hour cause apparently my name (Andrew Rodriguez) is on some fabricated terrorist list...

Allthough ive accidently took a can of mace in my hand luggage on a plane once lol.
Went to germany on a school trip and bought some pepper spray, cos i thought it would be funny to spray my friends (and it was) it was in my bag and i completely forgot. Looked in while on the plane and saw it in there and was like??? How did they not see that.
Oh i forgot to mention, Cruises RULE! so much free food i love it. Not sure how warm alaskas gonna be though lol

Yeah there are tests you can do to identify whether a substance is a controlled drug or not quickly.
