What exactly is dextrose someone told me you can pick it up at you local grocery store. if not can someone send me a link to what it is and a site were i can buy it or atleast a brand that is reputable to get it at?

m8 its quick sugar which will give u a insulin spike after weight training which is important u can get it from myprotein.co.uk

^^^ yea just do that! you'll get tons of info. basically though it's a simple carb used to give you an insulin spike which forces protein and creatien to your muscle and replaces your energy levels.

Mate, you can get it at most larger supermarkets (at least here in oz), but it's not in the sugar section. It's in the homebrew beer kits section - sometimes labelled as 'Brewing Sugar', but mainly just as Dextrose.


Alternatively, any homebrew supplier will have it.

I looked through the forums and nothing in their really answered my question or a link to what Dextrose looks like and where i can get it?? I jsut want a link or something to a site or image of what is a good brand so i can go pick it up.

fair enough. Dextrose is a simple carbohydrate (sugar), that i believe is made from corn. It is used in PWO shakes to generate and insulin spike in the body therefore "pushing" nutrients(protein, creatine, glutamine) into the muscles. The only brand i have found in NOW. If you do a search online for NOW dextrose, i'm sure you can find some more info. It is usually dirt cheap.... 4 bucks for a 2lb bag.... You may also have luck finding it at local health food stores.

Dextrose is also called Glucose.

It's usually in the health-food section of most supermarkets. Any brand is fine, since it's just a sugar, not a formulated supplement.
