Default Over 50s Workout Routines WANTED

Over 50s Workout Routines WANTED
can you help me with a new workout please to get in shape for Hill walking and climbing .
3 or 4 days aweek full or spilt ??
just want to get lean and mean and get in shape and get my fitness back an loose my belly fat
not able to to squat or do deadlifts at the moment due to lower back pain
any ideas please

Thats a pretty good one. Its a cutting routine so remember to cut 500 cals from your daily calorie intake (http://www.muscleandstrength.com/too...alculator.html). You should cut out the squats until your back doesn't hurt anymore. Good Luck!

Have you tried hack squats or the 45 degree leg press. those exercises still kill the legs but put less strain on the lower back. As for deadlifts, the only routines on this site that seem to emphasize deadlifts are the strength routines. However, i would recommend them every once and a while once you are physically able to do so.

If you want to train for climbing, you should do climbing specific exercises: a lot of pull-ups, forearm exercises, core exercises. Do not focus on your legs - too big leg muscles are not needed for climbing - they just weigh too much. Try to run and do a lot of cardio to burn fat. But the best climbing training is climbing itself, so do it at least 3 times a week. Google : "training for climbing" and you will find many good websites with great exercise routines. Good luck.
