8 week hypertrophy routine
This is the first 8 weeks of a 15 week macrocycle as discussed in an article by Doug on workout creation. Let me know what you guys think, any feedback appreciated!
It's a 4 day split, resting on Wed and the weekend. An * denotes a superset.
Chest & Biceps (Monday)
Bench Press - 3 sets of 8
Incline DB Press* - 2 sets of 10
Flye* - 2 sets of 10
Press Up - 2 sets to failure
Standing Barbell Curl - 3 sets of 8
Preacher Curl -3 sets of 10
Legs & Abs (Tuesday)
Squats - 4 sets of 8
Leg Press* - 2 sets of 10
Leg Extension* - 2 sets of 10
Leg Curl - 2 sets of 12
Calf Raise - 3 sets of 8
Kneeling Rope Crunch - 3 sets of 10
Plank - 2 sets to failure
Rest (Wednesday)
Back (Thursday)
Wide Grip Pull-up - 3 sets of 8
Bent-over DB Row - 3 sets of 8
Seated Cable Row - 3 sets of 8
Close Grip Pull-down - 3 sets of 8
Hyperextension (weighted) - 3 sets of 12
Shoulders & Triceps (Friday)
Arnold Press - 3 sets of 8
Lateral Raise - 2 sets of 10
Reverse Flye - 2 sets of 10
Shrug - 2 sets of 12
Skullcrusher - 3 sets of 8
Tricep Pushdown - 3 sets of 10
