Building Great Muscle Size!--Sean Nalewanyj's Articles.
Hi, ive been reading up a fair bit on the internet about building good hard quality muscle, and ive been reading alot about Sean Nalewanyji.
He is an experienced bodybuilder who writes articles about the use of fewer sets and exercises, but with more intensity.
Sean explains the use of around 8 sets for larger muscles, and even fewer for smaller muscles.
I like Sean Nalewanyj's articles, i find them very educated.
How come the routines on this site dont go by those guidelines?
I was reading that if you truly train with max intensity, you will stimulate new growth, thats why he was explaining 8 sets for larger muscles, and fewer for smaller muscles. He also explains the use of 3 days per week training max.
Personally i use 12-16 sets for larger muscles, and 6-9 for smaller muscles ( Biceps,Triceps).
Whats your opinion? I find this extremely interesting for every workout on this site doesnt follow those rules/guidelines, anyone get awesome results from that sort of training?

You will find that most programmes work, to some degree. It just depends which you wish to follow. If it works use it, and ignore what others tell you, unless of course you end up overtraining/injuries etc, there is nothing wrong with that philosophy. And he is not the first to expound this principal, so it's nothing new; it's been around for years. There are 3 day workouts on this site. And it isn't wise to be instructing such as 'beginners' to go heavy/intense, when they are just learning.

ok, he seems to know what hes talking about, 6-8 sets for larger groups, putting everything into those sets. and with less sets for smaller groups.
im in my teens, im on dougs 4 day split now, after 6-8 weeks i'll try the intense 3 day per week workout with 6-8 sets for larger muscles and 2-4 for smaller.

Yep, he probably does know what he's talking about. Clarence Bass also suggests similar methods with only 2 sets per muscle group. There are lots of routines around, all cater for someone. And, as you know, some are used briefly for shock purposes when a plateau is reached etc. Every routine, well almost all, but ceratinly all those on this site, are structured to get the job done, and variety is the spice of life. When you're doing intensity work, you need to be a lot more vigilant about what the body is telling you, since the signals are not always as clear as an injured back...Also, consider this point, even Clarence Bass, started on similar routines, and he says so, which makes it possible that Sean did too...their bodies were at a point where they could take it further, in whichever way they chose...and they knew what they were doing because they had years of experience...and Bass is still tweaking his routines even now. One thing to note is that the hype around Sean's routine, sales pitch I should say, is almost exactly the same as the one around the Turbo Training Programme (??)...the purpose is to sell...even if they do work, remember the purpose is sales ultimately. You can probably go a long way with the routines on this site alone, before you even need to be looking elsewhere...and some of the stuff in the 2 adverts for the 2 programmes already mentioned, only repeat what has already been said here.
So long as a routine is 'fun' and working, stay with it, whichever one it happens to be

He's just repackaging the old Mike Mentzer method with added sensational claims right?
Yeah this will work, for some people more than others like any routine and get them results, but the methods suggested on here and elsewhere if followed are tried and trusted and have worked for many thousands of people.
You follow any program correctly and live the rest of your life perfectly ( diet/rest/supplementation) and you'll make good gains.
The true secret isn't the workout, its the diet, the proper recovery time, the correct additional supplementation your body needs. A workout is only as good as the lifestyle of the person completing it, you can follow any workout perfectly, but if you feed your body crap, don't allow it the rest your results will still be pants.
If you want to pay your money, follow the workout and try it then do so. Whether it works for yoou will by and large be determined by your actions.
