Default A bit of change

I've been doing Doug's 4 day muscle building workout for about 3 months now and from what I've read it seems as though its good to swap out some exercises so that your muscles dont get used to performing a particular motion so would it be ok if i changed some the the exercises in Doug's workout? For example swapping out the preacher curl for the concentration curl.

yes, thats actually a good replacement since both of the exercises have the arm resting on something and they both work out the brachialis. I'm also replacing the preacher curl for concentration curl since my preacher curl bench got messed up

Changing 1 or 2 exercises probably won't make too much difference, change the whole workout, change days, change muscle order, increase intensity, vary rep ranges etc

I agree with Damo. A complete change is good. Even consider having a break from your current goal and switch for a few weeks. Like if you are mass building, give a strength building workout a go for six weeks or cycle through workouts strength training, building workouts and cutting throughout a year or so. This keeps the body guessing. However if you want to stay on the same path tailor a workout to build up your weaknesses and keep the body in proportion

Thanks for your replies. I'll take them all into consideration. I had to change from preacher curls cause my gym doesnt have a precher curl bench so....I think I'll stick with muscle building for now as my muscles aren't that big yet and later maybe switch to toning and cutting or something.
