As I said in my previous reply, you want a weight where you can only just complete the given number of reps in a routine, with strict technique. If you could push more reps then the weight is too light, same if you cant complete the given number of reps, the weight then is too heavy.
Hi, Yes it is one of my routines, Keep your weights as heavy as you can for the given rep range. Dont use light weights, the ideas with a cutting routine is that you want to keep every ounce of muscle tissue that you have previously built. Using light weights can cause a reduction in muscle size
I had went to doctor and seen how big I had become. So, I made up my mind to lose the weight and get back into shape like I was several years ago. The most important thing I did was keep a log for everyday. It listed every thing I ate/drank and the calories and fat. I then kept the total of the two under my limit and cut about 600 cals from my limit a day. I didn't have a gym membership so I went to a track and did 1.5 miles 3 times a week. Another good thing to jump start it is to eat only fruit until after lunch and then I would eat a lean cuisine meal. I lost 50 in three months like that.
