If you go into your user cp you will see where your rep came from. If someone gives you helpful advice you give them a rep. Which is on the left side of a post its a green cross. I dont think you get rep for every 100 posts although I could be wrong.

Your rep points go up when people rep you, or when you acheive a certain number of posts, or as your membership to the forum increases.
It isn't every 100 posts, im not sure exactly how it works but i think it might be every time your title changes, such as regular member, elite member, seniour emmber etc, these change automatically when you hit a certain number of posts and i think your rep power increases by 1 point also when this happens.
When another user reps you for a good post you receive their 'rep power' total added onto your total number of rep points. If a user has 0 rep power nothing will be added and it will show as a neutral rep. But for example if Doug reps you, you will get his rep power which is like 59 added onto your points total, and if a new member reps you, 0 points will be added. So try and impress the senior members... especially Doug lol
Hope this helps, Damien will clear this up if i've got anything wrong but thats how i believe it works.
So get repping good advice folks!!!
