Abs are like any muscle, they only really need training once per week or a maximum twice, for toning, (as you want to keep the abdominals small, which gives a smaller waist, if you do any weights for abdominals then that is going to make the muscle grow, [like a boxers abs] its like people doing weighted side bends, this exercise is going to make the waist wider by using weights, but if the waist is kept small then with back training it gives the illusion that the person is wider still and small waist) remember that the abdominals are used in many of your exercises anyway, any high amount of crunches and knee raises is not going to give a flat stomach it is the diet and training that gets rid of the body fat surrounding the abdominals, If you feel that you want to do more, then do them a maximum of twice per week, i.e. Upper mon & thurs, Lower tues & fri.

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the help and explanation - i'm slowly starting to get my head into this - i am starting this programme on monday and so will keep you posted on progress / questions etc.

One thing that is bugging me is diet - being away from home, living in a hotel and being at work for 12hrs a day is preventing me from eating as i want (within reason of course). I am doing my best to get as much of a balance in my meals, fresh fruit and veg etc and trying to stay away fatty foods. To be honest i eat 4 of my 6 meals at work - which is also not the easiest thing to do (the austrians hate the fact that we cook at work). Could you give any suggestions on which meals would suits my current lifestyle at the moment - also being most benifical to my body? For example because i am wanting to loose body fat???

Thanks again for your help - i really appreciate it.

Dale, To make life easier for while you are in work why not use a protein and carb (complex) supplement, and for essential fats you can use flaxseed oil or Udo's oil in the protein drink, and that will take care of some of your meals. use high fibre foods in the other meals so that you are getting enough fibre in the diet

Just had to tell all the women out there to give this workout try. I am on week 3 and I love it! I was getting bored with my other routine. This routine is not boring and it changes every week so it stays fresh. Thanks for a great routine Doug!

I love this routine! I already have a great anaerobic workout that would fit perfectly. My problem is I live out in the middle of nowhere and only have free weights and a small weight bench. There's a lat pull down bar, a slanted pad for preacher curls and the leg curl thing. Is there a way to adapt this routine using the equipment I have? I've only been doing weights on my own at home for a year so I'm no expert by any means. I've looked at the "at home" workout but I'm really want something with the intensity of this super toning routine. Thank you!
