Damn girl, thats commitment!
What was the most expensive - was it the dumb bell sets? What's the max weight they go up to?
BTW, thats good progress you've made their on your own.
You might wanna check with Doug or someone how to integrate those chinups into your program.
I think I read you are already doing a lot of bicep work. I'm not sure if it is good idea adding chin ups on the same day as this.

The run will be easy, the chin ups will take work. There is a programme the USMC uses for its recruits that works like the bomb. I posted a link to it before on here a few months ago for some kid trying to get into a military academy. I'l hunt it up if you think you'll use it.

Everyone here has talked about the strength/lifting issue, I'd like to share some advice regarding the running part..there are 2 ways in which you can accomplish your goal imo:
1) This is the one that worked for me. A year and a half ago I couldn't run more than 5 min straight, now I can run for 1 hour straight (although I don't normally do that..). What worked for me was running 3 times a week, and every couple of weeks increase the time by another 5 min. Keep adding time until you reach 2km..I find it also helps to walk in a fast pace for 5 min before actually starting to run, raise your heart rate a little.
2) I'll say this first, I haven't tried this method, I heard about it from a gym trainer where I go..it's based on intervals, and is aimed at distance. Say you want to run 2 km. So you run 500m, and then walk in a fast pace for 2 min, then run another 500, and walk for 2 min..you get the picture. As time passes, you reduce the time of your rest (walking) intervals, up until the point where you "connect" all your running intervals continuously. It really sound like a method that could work, but again, to be honest, I haven't tried it myself.

I might give that a go, because I can walk at a fast pace for ages, over an hour. Throwing in some jogging at a faster pace should help build up my cardiovascular fitness a lot more. I have to admit the running has me a little worried because I don't want to lose my hard-earned muscle.

I've been trying the jumping chinups for a while and PHOAR!!! The burn in unusual places is incredible. Especially in my abs. I only jump a couple times and I can get my chin over the bar, and my heart just seems to jump into gear with me. They feel fantastic!!

Hooooah!!! Get 'er done girl!!!
Let me know how you do with the running, if you need help I'll assist, in my leaner years I used to run 2miles in sub 10 minute times consistently... it would take you about 3-4 weeks to be able to run (at your own pace) the distance at hand.

I think I'm doing pretty good with the running, I don't get the pains in the chest when I get short of breath anymore. I even went to the doc and was tested for asthma but that's all clear. I just need to work on my breathing, that's the hardest part for me at the moment. Breathe, 2, 3, Breathe, 2, 3...
