Hi Ethan...welcome to the forum....
What you are describing is genetic, if you have a look at bodybuilding magazines you will find that quite a few bodybuilders at competition have the same......dont worry and build what you have....

It's a genetic thing. This is a good example of different looking abs on different bodybuilders. I'm guessing your abs look like Jay Cutler's (the one in the middle) from the description you gave.

lol, All bodybuilders have to get onto stage as dark as they can, if they didnt and they were white then the stage lights would wipe out any seperations in the muscles, so they use false tanning products to enable them to get black !

This picture shows Jay Cutler's abs better, you can see that they aren't aligned perfectly either. Don't worry about it i say.

hi all - new question on abs. my middle abs are ok at the mo and the top ones are decent, but the lower abs do not have proper defenition on them, u know so there rounded like the rest, they seem to just seep into the rest of the body. and i was just wondering what are the best ways to get real defenition and allow the lines to be seen??? if nobody realy understands what im talking about - tell me, and ill try to post up a pic + re phrase the question easier.
Thanks in advance, Zeph.

To workout the lower abdominals, you need to perform exercises that involve the legs..Example: Leg lifts (hang from a bar, or hold onto a dip assist and lift your legs). You can also do a similar exercise by laying on the ground, holding onto a stationary object and lifting your legs to a 90 degree angle and back (don't let them touch the floor). Exercising the abs bring depth to the abs, where as if you want to see them - you need to cut fat.
