Default Rotator Cuff Question

When doing internal and external rotator cuff exercises, the purpose is to strengthen the rotator cuff muscles, rather than to build rotator cuff size.

However, it is usually suggested that when doing rotator cuff exercises, one should use the 10 rep range, rather than the usual low reps required for building strength.

Why do we not use low reps for rotator cuffs?

I would think because they are so easily damaged. Not everyone keeps perfect form when lifting high weights, this could lead to injury. Ok quick month long study, you start lifting heavy weights and low reps. You get injured we will find out why.

But if you do use proper form with heavy weights (which I think is possible), and don't get injured, you will be much less likely to get future injuries (the whole point of training them in the first place) than if you used many reps...

The rotator cuff muscles are very small and because they are used very frequently respond better to higher rep ranges to strengthen them...
