Default Tricep Pushdowns

When performing the tricep pushdown, is the movement an extension like movement, keeping my weight and body away from the bar or do i push my body over the top and stay over the bar and 'push down' ? Hope the explanation makes sense.
Kinda confused as i see it as two different movements and just trying to figure out which one is correct.

Some people may think what the hell is he talking about, but i'm just trying to get that connection with the exercise

This is a elbow joint exercises. The movement should come from the elbow down the othe hand (in lamen terms). That is the only joint that should be moving. The rest of your body (back, shoulders etc...) are acting as stabilizers.... Dont lean with your body, or press with your body (this isnt crunches), keep your body solid and your elbows locked. Move the "forearm" only...

Baker's right - if it helps, picture yourself doing an arc movement with elbows tucked in to your side and not allowed to move - all you are doing is arching the handle and getting to the bottom and then making sure you push down with your palms at the bottom of the motion, not curling your wrists down.
Just my 2 cents

I agree with bbaker and tadolfi. Resist the temptation to push with your body....make your triceps do the work. This is another exercise that I see a lot of lame @$$es trying to impress someone stacking on the weight and using bad form...
