Default Weight Balance

Hello All. I have a question and I think this is the best spot for it. I have been the same weight since August and this morning I was upset by it because I assumed it meant that I have not gain any muscle since August either. But now I’m not so sure so I thought I would ask. I have been on Doug’s 4 day split plan for 8 weeks and was happy with the results. I weighed in today and was still at the exact same weight. At the beginning of the summer I lost about 10 pounds attempting to cut up a little but found I was loosing too much so I went back to trying to gain. (I used the -500 calories and then back to the + 500) So I was down 10 and then by August I was back up the 10 pounds. The only thing I lost really was my upper abs which were nice while they were there but really not in the cards. So now I am still the same weight but my upper abs are back. So my long winded question is this. If I can see my abs again is it possible that I am the same weight because I have gained muscle and lost fat over the past 2 months and one has balanced off the other?
Thanks and sorry for the novel.

If your waist size has decreased then it is muscle weight more than likely, and fat weight has obviously gone down as well if that is the case. Best to keep a check on waist measurement monthly, along with the weekly scale measurement, it really does help in determining what's going on.

I've have the same thing (won't call it a problem really), where my weight was staying the same or my weight actually went up, but my waist was getting smaller. Not sure whats going on, going over my diet with a fine tooth comb, and everything is matching up, tried doing the usual amount / less / more cardio and it hasnt changed anything, for the first 3 months of cutting i was losing a pound a week like clockwork then it all went weird.
